Day 1 / Depart USA
Your wonderful Scandinavian & Russian Adventure begins this evening
as you depart for Bergen.
Day 2 / Bergen
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon is
free before a welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 / Bergen
You will enjoy sightseeing today in this city with its mountain
backdrop and colorful painted houses. The port of Bergen was founded in
1070 and
figured in many Viking Sagas. Just out of the town is the villa where
Edvard Grieg lived for much of his life.
Day 4 / Bergen / Laerdal
This morning depart for Laerdal. View breathtaking scenery as you
travel past magnificent fjords, cascading waterfalls and isolated
hamlets.
Day 5 / Laerdal /
Kongsvinger
Today, continue through picturesque valleys, pristine lakes, beautiful
mountains and meandering rivers on the way to Kongsvinger, the
overnight stop.
Day 6 / Kongsvinger / Stockholm
Today you drive through the scenic, pastoral lake country as you travel
to Stockholm, capital of Sweden. This wonderful city built on 14
islands is indeed a treasure to be explored. Board your cruise ship
which will be your home for the next seven days.
Day 7 / Stockholm
Your sightseeing this morning will visit Fjallgatan with it's
picturesque red houses set along the edge of a towering hill,
Blasieholmen with its panoramas of the Royal Palace and the fascinating
Vasa Museum, once an
old wooden warship. Reboard the ship, for at 4:00 p.m. today you set
sail for your cruise.
Day 8 / Helsinki
Arrive at 8:30 a.m. Enjoy this great city, the capital of Finland.
See the fine neoclassical buildings of Senate Square and the amazing
Temppelliaukio Church carved out of solid rock. Do see the lovely
Sibelius
Park, dedicated to Finland¹s great composer. Sail at 7:00 p.m.
Day 9 & 10 / St. Petersburg
Arrival at 8:00 a.m. Two full days to explore this impressive city. The
famous Heritage Museum, St. Isaacs Cathedral, the onion-domed Smolny
Cathedral and the massive Peter & Paul Fortress to name but a few
of the many fabulous places to see. Set sail again at 8:00 p.m.
Day 11 / Tallinn
Arrive at 8:00 a.m. in the splendid walled capital of Estonia, Tallinn.
Enjoy the magnificent Gothic Town Hall. A walk through the winding
cobblestone streets is like a trip back in time. Set sail for the final
time at 1:00 p.m. today.
Day 12 / Cruising
Enjoy the day at sea, rest, reflect and relax, and to take advantage of
the onboard facilities of your cruise ship.
Day 13 / Copenhagen
Disembark this morning and transfer to your hotel for the last two
nights of your interesting journey. A tour of Copenhagen will include
the visit to see the "Little Mermaid" in the harbor. Christianborg
Palace,
seat of the Danish Parliament.
Day 14 / Copenhagen
Today enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of North Seeland. Visit
Frederksborg & Kronborg Castle's. Kronborg was Shakespeare's
setting for Hamlet, and was built in 1582. This evening visit the
famous Tivoli Gardens, the city's colorful amusement park, where you
will enjoy your special farewell dinner.
Day 15 Copenhagen / USA
This morning transfer to the airport for your flight home, bringing
with you wonderful memories of your fabulous trip.
